3D PRINTING

3D printing is the computer-managed creation of a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, often by laying down several thin layers of a material in succession.  It is notably useful for prototyping and the manufacture of geometrically complicated additives.

It first evolved in the 1980s, but it was a complex and expensive operation, so it had few uses at the time. It is only since 2000 that it has grown to be highly honest and affordable, and so it has become viable for a wide range of uses, including product design, component, and tool manufacture, consumer electronics, plastics, metalworking, aerospace engineering, dentistry, and scientific applications, and footwear.

3D printing can be used to create construction components or to “print” entire buildings in the construction industry. Construction is well-suited to 3D printing as much of the information necessary to create an item will exist as a result of the design process, and the industry is already experienced in computer-aided manufacturing. The recent emergence of building information modeling (BIM) may facilitate the greater use of 3D printing. In terms of material usage, 3D printing is economical. With additive rather than subtractive processes, fewer materials are used than with traditional manufacturing processes, what reduces the environmental impact as less waste is produced.

STTE recently formed a partnership with AMT-SPECAVIA, a Russian professional group of CNC equipment manufacturers founded in 2009.

The company’s activities are focused on the production of equipment. However, in order to demonstrate the applicability of 3D construction technology in practice and the possibility of building printers, in December 2015, specialists of AMT-SPECAVIA on additive technology (3D printing method) erected a residential building near Yaroslavl.

Our construction printers are used to produce small architectural forms, products for landscape design and landscaping, the production of elements and portions of buildings and structures with subsequent assembly on the construction site, and printing buildings directly on the foundation.
